39-Year-Old Accused Of Forcing Way Into Craryville Home

A Capitol Region man is behind bars after allegedly forcing his way into the home of a person he had a prior relationship with.

A Craryville man is behind bars after forcing his way into a home of a person he had a prior relationship with.

Columbia County resident David A. Grant Jr., age 39, of Craryville, was charged on Sunday, Oct. 13.

According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, an investigation determined Grant forced entry into the residence of the victim through a bathroom window and struck the victim. All violated a full order of protection.

Grant was charged with:

  • Burglary
  • Criminal contempt (two counts)
  • Criminal mischief

He was arraigned before the town of Claverack Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail instead of a $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
